Taylor Swift has added a second show of the Eras Tour to Madrid, Spain, after fans pleaded for a year.
Spanish Swifties have been pushing for an additional night of the Eras Tour for more than a year after 450,000 requests to obtain a ticket flooded the Ticketmaster system last year.
The holdup has been getting approval from LaLiga, the Spanish football league, according to the Spanish sports news website Revelo. There is a game scheduled on Sunday, May 26, between Real Madrid and Real Betis. Revelo reported the Eras Tour needs three full days to safely be constructed.
Although the game has not been moved, on Wednesday Swift quietly added May 29 to her international calendar without posting about it on social media. When you click on the link to Ticketmaster, it says, "A limited number of fans who pre-registered for the shows in Madrid will be selected to access the sale and will receive email notifications at starting Wednesday, February 28, 2024."
The sale starts at 3 p.m. local Madrid time (9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time). The Santiago Bernabéu stadium is selling 85,000 tickets each night, according to Seat Pick.
Swift will play on a Wednesday and Thursday, sandwiched between two nights in Lisbon, Portugal, the weekend before and two nights in Lyon, France, the weekend after.
